Singing- Mia Guldhammer (Dk)

Mia Guldhammer

This singing workshop is intended for anyone who enjoys singing and wants to learn more about using the voice and/or wants to know about traditional songs from Denmark..

Mia wrote about this course:
“If you like chain dances, fairy tales and really long old songs (where you do not understand half of the lyrics, but somehow still understand it all) then this is exactly the workshop for you! Based on Denmark’s old traditional folk ballads you will get a crash course in rhythmic mouth music, various chain dancing, drone singing and 800-year-old trance-long ballads. Everyone can participate. We will be learning by ear and under the premises of ‘natural singing’, with the beaks we are blessed with.

Looking so much forward to this! I’ll be doing some ‘drone-choir’-arrangements, mouth music pieces and some ‘tral’, along with some ballad dancing and singing, so I think it will be a lot of fun. And I will make it approachable regardless of language and level.

Level of the course

Participants do not need to have any previous training or workshops. Participants are not afraid to use their voice, but much singing experience is not necessary. Students should bring paper for notes and some kind of recording device to record examples and the singing together. The workshop will be given in English.

Maximum amount of participants: 30-35
