Diatonic accordeon for beginners – Sandra de Jong
An introduction
Always wanted to play the diatonic accordion? Here’s your chance! Sandra will start working with beginners’ diatonic accordions. The instrument will be discovered with the pleasure of playing being paramount. This group is intended for beginning players.
Course content consists of technique and maintenance of the instrument, fingerings and bellows technique. All this is done using some simple melodies.
No instrument? No problem! A number of accordions can be borrowed.

About Sandra de Jong
Sandra played in the duo the Slomobabes and later in VOLT!, where she performed, composed and arranged music alongside her bandmates. She also ran Balfolk ensemble workshops at the Music School in Groningen. These days, Sandra is mainly active as a writing tutor and loves teaching people, step by step, how to create something beautiful in a way that suits them. According to Sandra, doing this in a group allows you to learn a great deal from each other’s learning processes and gives you more fun and confidence whilst exploring.
