Celebrating 40 years of St. draailier & doedelzak
The registration has started!
This is an annual folk weekend in the woods of Sint-Michielsgestel (near Den Bosch). It offers a choice of many workshops, such as for hurdy-gurdy, singing, diatonic accordion, bagpipes, nyckelharpa and ensemble playing. There are workshops for beginners, intermediate and advanced players. Always a fun weekend, with workshops during the day and concerts, balls and jam sessions in the evening.
This year it will be a very special edition because we will celebrate 40 years of the Dutch Hurdy-gurdy & Bagpipe Foundation (Stichting Draailier & Doedelzak)! In order to celebrate all those years thoroughly, we are planning the workshop weekend with Easter: so this year we will adding an extra day to the weekend. Will you join us? We are celebrating all these years with lots of beautiful music: we have planned beautiful concerts and put together a great workshop program!

The Plan:

Participants are welcome from Friday evening the 18th April. This evening there will be sessions, balls and concerts
The workshops start on Saturday 19th of April at 9:30 and last until Monday 21th of April (Easter Monday) at 15:00.
There will be workshops during the day, on Friday and Saturday evening there will be music and jam sessions from 20:00. For the jam sessions you can already download some session repertoire
There will be 11 workshops for hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes, accordion, nyckelharpa, singing and two ensemble groups for all instruments.

- All instruments: Ensemble 2 – Toon van Mierlo (Be)
- Diatonic Accordeon for advanced in G/C – Pascale Rubens (Be)
- Singing – Youmi Bazoge & Emma Cousteix (Fr)

Registrations
The costs of this weekend
The costs of this weekend includes off course the stay at the location (4-6 person rooms for Saturday to sunday) and breakfast, lunch, diner and coffee and tea during breaks. In the Netherlands, breakfast and lunch consists of bread, the diner is warm meal. The price list for the upcoming course weekend is as following:
- All courses: 240 eu (230 euro if paid in 7 days) (until 1 April)
- Guests (no workshop participation): 180 eu (170 euro if paid in 7 days) (until 1 April)
- “Balfolk & Bed”: evening program + bed & breakfast: 72 eu for Friday eve
- Kids 2-12 years (without courses): 160 eu
- Kids 0-2 years : –
- Arrival on Friday (incl evening program): 15 eu
- Rental bed sheets: 16 euro
Don’t wait too long to register: form the 1st of january 2025 our prices has to increase with 20% due to new regulations / laws
