Bagpipes (more) advanced – Thorsten Tetz

Thorsten Tetz

Thorsten Tetz is best known as a renowned bagpipe maker. He is coming to give a workshop on techniques and variations especially for advanced to advanced bagpipe players. Thortsten writes:

“Take your playing to the next level! This workshop is designed for advanced pipers who want to refine their tone and master the art of ornamentation. Together, we’ll explore expressive techniques and subtle nuances that bring melodies to life. Through hands-on practice with carefully chosen tunes, you’ll deepen your musical interpretation and sharpen your personal style.”

Level of Playing

Participants are from advanced to very advanced level. They have been playing intensively for several years and have previously followed advanced workshops, for example. They should be able to overblow without any problems. They can play all notes on the bagpipes without any problems (both minor and major) and can effortlessly keep the bag under pressure. They have followed several bagpipe courses or internships and have no problem learning a melody. Workshop is given in English.
In comparison with our Saturday course: this level is not taught in Zeist.
