Nyckelharpa – Rasmus Brinck (Se)

Rasmus is a young nyckelharpa player from Sweden. He studied at the Stockholm Conservatory.
Rasmus wrote:
“In this course we take a deep dive in understanding polska, rhythm and how to play together. You will get tools to make it all click and be able to understand how the music correlates to the dances. This course is for anyone interested in taking their knowledge of playing the nyckelharpa further.”
Level of playing
This workshop is for (half) advanced students. Participants know their way around the instrument and can easily pick up the melody and/or accompaniment by ear or from a sheet music. Scores are available afterwards, but most things are learned by ear. If you have any doubts about the level, please contact us.

Over Rasmus Brinck
Rasmus is a Swedish/Danish musician living in Copenhagen. He has a wide background in Swedish and Danish folk music played on the nyckelharpa and violin. After studying at the royal conservatory in Sweden he moved to Denmark where he now plays with his band “Tailcoat” and “Azur azur”. Rasmus works a lot alongside his wife Kirstine Nurdug Jensen who is teaching folk dance on all levels and is known for his attention to detail in swing and tonality. Other than music he builds nyckelharpa in his workshop in Copenhagen and is always happy to take a chat with anyone who is interested in folk music, building and coffee.
